ARTISTES
UNLIMITED. The name spells enthusiasm and dedication. Watching
the young group of performers (Aged 13 to 23) practicing their
scales on the Bohemian Rhapsody minus professional guidance, you
realise as much. "We meet so many talented students during
inter-college competitions and really enjoy being with together
backstage. But we as a group believe in co-operation, not competition.
Artistes Unlimited is about celebrating music." says Annette
Philip, a founding member who graduated from Lady Shriram College
this year.
The
60-strong group will perform a concert on Sept.
15 and 16 at the Kamani. 60 comprises Indian, Western and
Fusion music and the two-and-half hour concert will also feature
a seven minute self-composition. They are also doing a charity
show in association with CanSupport, an NGO and the British Council.
"I
love music and that's one thing we can enjoy here," says
Sherry Matthews, a standard VIII student from Don Bosco. Points
out Friday the 14th vocalist Gaurav Alhuwalia : "We have
people from various schools, colleges and academic institutions
like IIT, Don Bosco and LSR and there is so much you learn and
enjoy here." Besides Friday the 13th, Artistes Unlimited
also includes members of the rock group
Them Clones.
